Whip Crucible Dish Holder for Melting Metal and 75mm (3") Ceramic Melting Dish. The Crucible Holder is 320mm long, made from stainless steel and can be adjusted for other sizes of Ceramic Crucible/ Melting Dishes. It allows the melting dish to be securely held whilst heating and pouring.
The 75mm (3 inch) Ceramic Crucible/ Melting Dish can be used with all types of precious and not precious metal, including Gold, Silver, Platinum, Copper, Brass, Aluminium, Pewter, Bronze and Tin.
Borax Powder is used as a flux when soldering metal (including jewellery) and when metal is melted for casting (including sand/ delft casting and lost wax casting. The addition of borax power reduces oxidisation and improves the metal flow characteristics. For use with gold, silver, bronze, brass, aluminium. The supplied Borax Powder can also be used to glaze the Ceramic Crucible/ Melting Dish to help metal flow and prolong the life of the item.
PLEASE NOTE: THE CERAMIC CRUCIBLE SHOULD BE PRE-HEATED AND GLAZED WITH BORAX TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE ITEM.
