Parting Powder (500g) Calcium Carbonate and Dust Bag for Powder Application for Metal Sand Casting for all types of sand (Petrobond Delft Bromsgrove sand)

Parting Powder prevents prevents the casting sand sticking to the pattern (object being cast) and allows the pattern to be more easily removed from the sand as the mould is made. Also used to ensure that 2 halves of the mould are easily parted. The Parting Powder can be used with both oil bonded sands (such as Petrobond and Delft Clay) and water bonded sands (such as Bromesgrove Green Sand.

The Parting Powder is finely Ground Natural Calcium Carbonate (Ca Co3) and can be used used as a parting agent for non- ferrous metals sand moulding. It can be applied using either a fine brush or sprinkled using the finely woven dusting bag.

The dust bag is made from finely woven material and has built in draw string to keep the parting powder in, measuring 205mm x 140mm.The dusting bag should be part filled and the draw string tied. It is then shaken over and around the pattern and over any surface that easy separation is required from. A fine layer of dust will be deposited over all surfaces.

Care should be taken not to use too much in corners and on fine patterns as detail can be lost. Most alternative powders like talc and baby powder absorb moisture making them unsuitable for use as a parting agent.

The Parting Powder is supplied in a sealed plastic container and is post free.

The Calcium Carbonate product contains no substances classified as hazardous to health according to EC directive.
